Spilanthes is traditionally known as an antibacterial and antiviral herb. Referred to as the tooth-ache plant, it has numbing properties which can bring relief to tooth and gum pain. It may also be effective for colds, flus, earaches, thrush, canker sores and herpes. Spilanthes may also inhibit the growth of Candida albicans. It can be used topically to treat bacterial infections, wounds, and fungal infections such as ringworm.*
